The Georgian government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, has approved a project that aims to define the safety standards and issues surrounding paragliding. The activity poses significant risks, and until the adoption of a relevant legislative act, there is a need for legal regulation of paragliding flights, based on a temporary rule.

The project establishes a temporary rule for determining and paying the amount of fees related to the production, operation, safety, and activities defined by the rule. It defines the rights and responsibilities of persons involved in the process, including requirements for determining the suitability of the flight location, operator certification, pilot requirements, the suitability of the paraglider and its elements, and more.

The rule aims to regulate commercial, non-commercial, and training paragliding flights while exempting experimental and demonstration flights. However, certain requirements are defined for the performance of such flights.

The move comes as part of the government's efforts to ensure the safety of paragliding activities and prevent accidents related to the sport. By regulating paragliding, the government hopes to create a safer environment for both participants and spectators.

Paragliding is a popular activity in Georgia, and the country's breathtaking landscapes offer a unique experience for enthusiasts. The implementation of the temporary rule for paragliding flights is a positive step towards ensuring safe and enjoyable paragliding experiences for all.
