Former Chairman of the Government of Adjara Tornike Rizhvadze has been transferred to Turkey for medical treatment. This was reported to journalists by Lali Turdzeladze, the clinical director of the First University Clinic.

According to her, the transfer to a Turkish clinic was carried out at the request of Rizhvadze’s family.

A few hours before his discharge from the First University Clinic, Rizhvadze’s condition was assessed by the head of the medical facility.

According to Levan Ratiani, his condition remains seriously stable, but there is a positive dynamic, and he is expected to be taken off mechanical ventilation soon.

The former head of the Adjara government was admitted to the clinic three days ago with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Initially, Tornike Rizhvadze was taken to “GeoHospitals” in Sagarejo with a gunshot wound and later transferred to the First University Clinic. An investigation into his case has been launched under Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which refers to incitement to suicide. According to doctors, Rizhvadze’s condition is showing positive progress; he is responsive and follows simple instructions.
