U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro has been captured after the U.S. carried out a “major strike” on the country.
“The United States of America has successfully conducted a major strike operation against Venezuela and its leader, President Nicolás Maduro, who, along with his wife, was captured and airlifted out of the country,” Trump wrote on the social media platform Truth Social.
According to the White House chief, a press conference on the current situation will take place on January 3 at Mar-a-Lago (Florida) at 11:00 a.m. local time.
