The Tbilisi City Court sentenced Soso Gogashvili, a former high-ranking official of the State Security Service, to 5 years in prison.

The judge found Gogashvili guilty on all five counts presented by the prosecution.
For information, Soso Gogashvili was detained on July 15, 2022 in his own house as a result of a special operation.
Gogashvili is charged under Part 1 of Article 333 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (excess of authority by an official, resulting in a significant violation of the legitimate interests of the state), Part 4 of Article 157 (illegal acquisition, storage, distribution of personal data, causing significant damage), and Part 3 of Article 236 (Illegal acquisition and possession of firearms and ammunition), which provides for imprisonment for a term of four to seven years.
