We analyzed data from approximately the past year and found that, unfortunately, there is no direct correlation between increased fines and improved statistical indicators, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said at today’s briefing.
As the head of government noted, given that fines place an additional burden on the population, a discussion on reducing them is possible.
“We continuously monitor statistics and assess the impact that increased fines have on improving indicators. We studied data from roughly the past year and found that, unfortunately, there is no direct correlation between higher fines and a reduction in negative statistics.
Therefore, taking into account that fines place a burden on the population, we can certainly consider such an option as reducing them. This issue should be worked on together with the Parliament of Georgia,” Irakli Kobakhidze said.
