On May 15 of this year, within the framework of the 135th session of the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers taking place in Chișinău, Georgia’s Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maka Botchorishvili, met with her Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiha.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, this meeting was a continuation of recent contacts between representatives of the Ukrainian and Georgian authorities.
During the meeting, they discussed Georgia’s consistent political and humanitarian support for Ukraine.
“Additionally, the Georgian side highlighted the existing challenges in Georgian–Ukrainian relations, the steps taken by the Ukrainian authorities in recent years, as well as positions that hinder the normalization of relations between the countries.
The sides confirmed the importance of improving diplomatic relations and their readiness to continue dialogue,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia stated.
